Title: Any users of the Harms Professional 030 A500
Post by: lillPiP on October 06, 2007, 12:08:33 AM
Need help!
When configuring the ram it adds the ram but shortly hangs.
Running the card without adding the ram in workbench works OK. Both my cards behaves like this.. :(

Make sure you are not mixing the zip sizes. All must be the same.

All my zipmemorys has this text on it:
MCM5400AZ70, JAPAN SCZCZ9406
I have 16 of these. Would that give me 8 MB of ram?

Sounds you have 8Mb in it. But check for a bad/burned chip (i.e. : remove all and put back a pair at a time). Turn the Amiga on each time you add a pair of chips and see what happens.

off the top of my head, I think those are 4Mbit chips so yeah, 16 of them should give you 8MB

i will suggest to run some ram test utility, in example microbotics ram test 1.2. there can be few cells damaged by heat, age etc

Nope! They were all "Harmed" in the process of using these.

Ok,
I tested to activate the memory without any harddrive controller. Copied a few mb's to the RAM: and it worked OK.
But as soon as the harddrive is activated and the memory is configured the machine hangs.
I have also tried to change the MASK on the harddrive to 0x1FFFFE so it will only use the DMA to and from the chipmem only. But neither this works....help!
