Title: SSH Client
Post by: lorddef on October 03, 2007, 11:41:20 PM
Anyone know a decent SSH client for Classic OS 3.9?

I'm using amtelnet at the moment - but I could do with one that doesn't time out while I'm compiling stuff.

I think it's cool that this comes up as the second result in Google for "Amiga SSH2," I wrote it YEARS ago :-)

Why does it timeout? Haven't you registered it or is there some real problem? AmTelnet has worked just fine here for years.

Napsaterm's SSH-version is pretty good too.

Couple of commandline ssh-clients too, if they're enough. Check Aminet etc.

Little OT, but sshcon is great on MorphOS. It has better compatibility with everything and works with ssh2 etc.

Good question.  Are we sure the time-out isn't server side?

I've never seen the Napsaterm SSH version.  Possible that post-dates my article, or has it been part of AmiTCP?

[EDIT]  Wait, I found it, but it only supports SSHv1?  I know I only allow SSHv2 on my servers, as do several universities I have worked with.

You may want to try the OpenSSH Port (http://amiga.sourceforge.net/index.php?sfcontent=/project/showfiles.php?group_id=48010&package_id=102460) which supports the SSHv2 protocol. As far as I can see, GeekGadgets stuff is required. Tell me how it went.  ;-)

Amtelnet times out because I havent registered it, I'm not even sure you can register any vapour software anymore.

Sould use openssh but it wants gg and perl installed and I cant be bothered with those on my amiga at the moment.

VaporWare still exists at vapor.com, but there's a news article dated 25Dec (doesn't say what year,)

    Online registration no longer available
SiliconCircus has stopped offering online registration for VaporWare products.
