Hi there, I'm getting these errors when I try to install 3.1 on my 2.5" flash disk.
"Not a DOS disk in device MDH0" appears every time when the disk is installed and when I start it up. Plus it appears again 2 times in a row before you enter the first install window layout.
Just before you get into the actual installing it comes up with another error saying "Volume3.1 is full". I don't get why it should matter if the floppy is full!? Besides I never put anything on it in my life.
Another error it comes up with sometimes is asking about partitions to be installed and something about drawers despite I never allocated any. I made sure they were removed in HD Toolbox.
Can someone help? Screenshots and/or video can be made upon request (may take time though).
P.s. If it helps, the 2.5' FD is just under 4GB. Just extra info if anyone needs it. Also to add, I did manage to get upto storage few months ago but the disk had loads of block errors which was actually my fault. The other 2 3.1 install disks I have both have block errors on them too!!! :madashell:

Not really sure what to suggest, unless you can borrow another set of 3.1 disks to try out in your machine? Could be that some bit of script somewhere is a bit corrupt...

I dont know of anyone near me that has a set 3.1 disks.

The reason for "df0: is full" is simple: the hdtoolbox is trying to save the "hd" parameters to it.
Set hdtoolbox to save the parameters to RAM: , instead.
After partitioning, you need to format the device before install the OS, BTW.

Think you could write more detail for me please? I hate the formatting system Amiga's have. >.<

When you detect the configuration of the disk (in HDToolBox), it attempts to save it to a file for later retrieval. The default location is DF0:. Just save it to RAM: instead.

Thanks for the help. Will give it a go later. :-)

Still doesn't seem to be working. Either I'm doing something wrong or the disks have missing information on them. It is a 2.5' Flash Disk so maybe it's incompatible?
Is there some sort of tutorial for this on the net somewhere?

maybe this helps?

Thanks for that link, even though it was designed for 3.0 the vitals were the same. Boots stupidly quick with a Flash Disk Drive. So now I'm on the path to getting OS3.9! That is after a couple of hurdles.
