I see a lot of messages people are not happy with the process of the OS4 development or slow process. I think its easy to say these things but not realize the true position that Amiga as a company sits in. I would like to see us move away from the powerpc processor and go to the x86 market. Does anyone remember when QNX and Amiga were going to partner to bring the OS into the next generation? I think if that had happened we could of been seeing OS9 by now. Not sure what happended, though thats stretching back to 1999 or something like that.

actually, there's noting wrong with the "process of the OS4 development".
OS4 is coming long fine.
the problem is the lack of available hardware.
I have been lucky enough to see OS4 and how well it continues to mature because I get to observe that during local amiga meetings where we have an Amiga with OS4 on it - and always the latest version.
if there was hardware out there, there would be no problem

It's as useless as an ashtray on a motorbike, period!

Any updated on when those 2 new Amiga's are due to be released? I haven't read anything about it since they were announced. And what about that project to run OS4 on Mac Minis?

The topic concerning porting OS4 onto an x86 system has been discussed plenty in other forums, please use the search feature if you need info on those discussions.

enigma88,
I would like to see us move away from the powerpc processor and go to the x86 market.
Most already have.

Yeah really, if the majority of the former amiga market does any more moving away they'll beat NASA to mars.

@RW222
Mars?, NASA have yet to make a moon landing.
Oh hang on who is it we are accusing of incompetence and dishonesty again?
So many conspiracy theories, so little time.
