I am going to get an Amiga 1000 for $30. This is the posting:
"Selling a rare Commodore Amiga 1000 computer, in good condition, with keyboard and mouse, and original box, no monitor, will work on a TV with a RCA plug in full color, I have no disks with it, so it asks for a kickstart disk when I turn it on. $30"
Is this a fair price??

A1000 for $30 is a very good price with keyboard and mouse.
It would sell for more than that on Ebay.
:-)

Nope, it's a rip off for that machine, argue him up to at least $75.
;-)
-
It's a good deal, take it. If not, pass it on my way (:
-
A friend of mine sell one for ~US$300.
Ok, she was in perfect, pristine shape, with the front chip mem expansion and original mouse. But I think it was a rip-off.

This is a good price. I paid $25 for mine (without a keyboard or mouse) but it did have the one meg insider inside though and is in excellent shape.

@Amigamia
If you go for it, I have a 256KB RAM expansion for the front port that nobody seems to be going for.

Thanks guys! I'll let you know. I am supposed to go pick it up today.

I love my A1000 :-D :-D :-D :-D

Well, for me the a1000 was the machine that got me started writing software and doing stuff with electronics when I was a kid. I saw the juggling dude up on a projector when i was 6 years old when the old man took me to a software store in Dallas Texas, I looked up and I knew what kind of career I wanted to pursue since then.
I have 3 a1000s, and 40 years from now you'll occasionally find me flipping that sucker on, pimping some old games, running some demos and rocking some chip tunes. You can bury me with the a1000 when I kick it.

ok I got me the A 1000. Looks in great conditions, with mouse, KB but no OS disks (picture will follow soon). Now what?? What can I do with an A1000? Can I put an HDD in it? How could I tweak it? Do they have 3.1 chips for it? Who has done the most with an A 1000?
-
Well there you have it. I realized that I can't do much with it but maybe someone here has a better use for it.

Dude... ask anyone who has had the pleasure of owning a Vetter Windjammer

You can EASILY smoke on a bike with one of these bad babies... and there's plenty of room for an ashtray. It's actually pretty damn cool. :p
