Title: downloading.
Post by: rosielea on October 01, 2007, 02:18:44 PM
greetings to all Amigans,

I am amiga onWinAue emulator, but would like to know how I can download games as an image disc so that my two daughters aged 21 & 24 can play them.  I have the original Amiga games floppies but obviously they will not play in a PC.  I am quite keen to play them as well, so any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Nice to see so much Amiga support, good to be back, look forward to hearing from you all!!

Get a Catweasel.

Cloanto has made a nice transfer utility, called AmigaExplorer, with which you can transfer your disks to adf's (or vice versa, or files as is), using a serial cable between Amiga and PC.
You could also have a look at the Catweasel controller. You can connect floppy drives to it (even a 8" floppy disk drive)
and read/write in many formats, Commodore, Amiga, Mac, you name it.
But AFAIK it only works on Linux. (I dunno, maybe they have nowadays Windows drivers/app, haven't checked for years now)

For games on the internet you can check if Back to the Roots (BTTR) is online again.
Also, Aminet would also be a good option to look for freeware games. And AFAIK AmigaLand.de is a legal site
