Title: Best filesystem settings
Post by: PPC on September 25, 2007, 05:25:43 AM
Hey ppl, i was wondering what are the best settings in HD toolbox for an IDE drive (20GB IDE Western digital 7200 RPM)
under SFS on a Blizzard ppc 040/25+603e 210 Mhz ?
It is connected wtih a 2,5"=>3,5" converter on the standard A1200 IDE controller.

Thx in advance.

I suggest you to have a rescue partition formatted in FFS, around 50 Mo with all tools needed for partition recovery and with a lower priority than your SFS partition.

for SFS, always use a blocksize of 512, for the rest (mask and max transfer) just browse through SFS doc  :rtfm:

rescue partition is not needed i'm going to delete everything.
Got it allready nice&safe on CD :)

i did read the SFS doc's, but was wondering if anybody had some nicely tweaked settings for a setup like this.

I did RTFM  :rtfm:  but the last time i did i had a CSPPC with 10K scsi disk wich i really got going on some nice custom settings :-D

Grz,
