Back in 2001 I treated myself to a brand new A1200 and an Apollo 1230/40 68030 Board as a treat for finishing University. Last night, I dug them out again!
Luckily, it still works!

So.. what do people do with their non PPC Amiga Classics?

What do people do with non-ppc classic amigas? Well, there is of course the whole "Play Classic Games" :D

With that accelerator you should be able to get WHDLoad working on there nicely (www.WHDLoad.de)

What else to do with an 030? A good game of doom can be played.. Also using OctaMED is still fun :D

Also, get Kickstart 3.1, OS 3.9 and a PCMCIA network card and get that beast online :) That's always good fun :)

I'm sure I'll think of more stuff throughout the day so I'll post more later as they come to mind :)

What do I do with my classic miggies, play games.
Settlers, Theme Park, Cannon fodder, there are loads and loads of great games which just fly on an 030 miggy.

If you pop into a.org's IRC chat room you will often see Rockape chatting on his 030 A1200 which is hooked up to broadband, he surfs the net, chats, does e-mails all on an 030 Miggy.

As for OS3.9.. I wouldnt tbh, it slows an 030 down a lot, an A1200 with an 030 card and os3.1 is very fast but running 3.9 it does seem rather slow imho.

Or use it for torrents (I think)

I love experimenting, just to see what my A1200 with Blizzard 1230MKIV (32MB) can do. The last major achievement was getting it hooked up to my Virgin Media Broadband.

I have a load of classic games which I get out every now and again (Lotus II, AB3D 1 and 2), play mods, mess around in Workbench (sorry, OS 3.x) to try and get faster framrates on MPeg videos etc.

As much as you may dislike it, Windows just makes things too easy. With the Amiga, you can get right into the workings.

Back during my school days, the Amiga 500 was the computer I was bought up on. I remember the days of messing around with the Workbench and using pploadseg / PowerPacker to cram as much onto a boot disc as possible!

how mich RAM have you got, and do you have a Hard disk ?

you should be able to get online with a setup like that - I used a 25MHz 030 equipped A1200 with 8MB fast RAM, on a Mikrovitek M1438S multisync monitor to surf / mail with for many years 'til the A1 came along.
IBrowse, and YAM were the preferred choices - it got a little bit cramped at times, but the more RAM the merrier !
