Title: eyetech NOT!
Post by: whoosh777 on July 04, 2003, 09:45:20 PM

I thought I would have a look at whats going on at eyetech's site,

I tried www.eyetech.com, Eye-browse loading the site,

"institute of technology", thats a bit pretentious of eyetech,

Lasik, whats going on?

This is not Eyetech!

Some years ago I made a similar blunder, I was interested in

registering some newsgroup prog, New York New York.

The company was called Grand Finale,

so I phoned international directory enquiries,

a snarly man deals with my enquiry

Country?

US

Name of company?

Grand Finale,

Which part of the US?

I dont know

snarls: Which part of the US?

It says CT

Connecticut! (I think)

He gives the number.

I phone the number, someone with a very camp voice answers.

Do you sell New York New York?

No

But arent you Grand Finale?

Yes

Grand Finale productions?

Yes

So you must sell New York New York?

No

Its a newsreader program

Grand Finale sells lingerie!

Sorry to have bothered you,

I gave up with New York New York and went and used Newscoaster instead.

Yeah same here...

Once I typed www.whitehouse.xxx (not xxx but something else really) rather than www.whitehouse.gov  .

Needless to say, the inhabitants of the .xxx site were of a far more scantily clad sort than good old Bush :-o  :-P .

Hopefully needless to say, but did you follow it up, find out what happened to your money?  One of the advantages of a credit card, if someone doesn't give you what you paid for, you tell your credit card company.  They refund you, then they handle the dealer.
