Title: AMOS the Creator
Post by: wildstar1063 on September 18, 2007, 08:07:45 PM

Anyone know what the last version of "Amos the Creator"
was? I have the  1.2 boxed set, and a 1.3 upgrade disk.

Thanks

I"m not sure it'll do me any good, AMOS does not seem to like my A3000T, or my CyberVision 64/3d and CyberGraphX Setup.

When I try to run it, Newmode tries to promote it, and I just get a black screen, and everything seems to lock up.

I installed it in the hard drive of my little $5.00 thrift
store A600, and it worked ok, but it just wont seem to work
on my 3000. Msybe it does not like the 040 or something.

Yes, AMOS (The Creator and Pro) aren't compatible with accelerator cards and some other extra's.

Francois Lionet made it compatible with OCS and ECS in mind. Unless you have the various AGA related 3rd-party extensions for AMOS Pro you can't do anything on AGA either (other than OCS/ECS stuff).

I have most versions of AMOS, but with my A600's down I am forced to work under emulation (WinUAE 1.4.0) on my laptop.

Dear Friends:

I have a nice a1200 desktop, with an accel 030/50mhz + 18mb ram. It runs super. I use it mainly for two things: aladdin 4d (3d animation) and amospro (amos coding). these both run well with the 030 accelerator.
I would like to get an 060 accelerator (for a1200) so aladdin then run faster for rendering. But I also want to keep using amospro. Will amospro run fine on 060 accelerator? If it does not...I will probably just keep my 030, so I can still use both these programs.
Thank you!!!

I'd say AMOS Professional... I've not used "Easy Amos" but from what I gather it's just AMOS with what would become the frontend for AMOS Professional, but with the AMAL animation language taken out.

AMOS Pro, hard drive installed with all the help files, examples and a couple of nice extensions (definately AMCAF!) sounds like just what you need/want - Have fun! :)

Id strongly recommend using AMOS Professional, and updating it as well to v2 (the update is part of the amos pro compiler package). There's also an update or 2 after that (2.21 or thereabouts (its been a while) is where it stopped). Theyre definately worth installing too in my opinion, not just because of the bugfixes and so on, but towards the end more effort was taken in regards to better multitasking and compatibility with ks2+ machines. It's a little bit of effort, but Id definately recommend going to the trouble.

Well ... I want to start programming again. I know AMOS is legal to download now, but cant find it and lost my copy ...

Would anyone be so nice to mail me. Version 1.35 I prefer, with all the disc's.

Please anyone ? :-)

Yes, amospro runs fine on a 060, but you must have the latest version of amos.library (2.30), which is not included in the package.
