Title: RocTec: RocHard 800C
Post by: sy278 on September 17, 2007, 03:13:54 PM
Hi Guys,

Does anyone out there have one of these drives or even had one who can remember what the the I and II positions are for on the power switch?

I have the DIP switch settings from http://www.amiga-hardware.com/showhardware.cgi?HARDID=571 but cant recall the rest of it.

Here is the switch I'm talking about:

Cheers.

I think the external I-0-II switch is intended to choose:

 - IDE hd (or only memory)
 - off
 - SCSI HD

This is a wild guess, but anyway this is the driver install floppy (http://www.l8r.net/install/hard_drive_cont/MtecIDE500.dms), in .DMS format (thanks to Amiga Installer's Heaven).

the "only memory", cant be, because they have a proper switch (the red ones)  :-D

Switch     Function
1    Enable / Disable Hard Drive
2    Enable / Disable RAM
3    Kickstart 1.2 / Kickstart 1.3
4    Reserved
5    Reserved
6    SCSI ID 0xx / 1xx
7    SCSI ID x0x / x1x
8    SCSI ID xx0 / xx1

Hello!
I have one... this was taken from the manual:

The Game switch:

0 - Both RAM and the hard drive are disabled
I - Only the hard drive is disabled
II - RAM and the hard drive are both enabled

The DIP switch:

1 - ON: Enable Hard disk / OFF: Disable Hard disk
2 - ON: Enable expansion RAM / OFF: Disable expansion RAM
3 - ON: For Kickstart 1.2 / OFF: For Kickstart 1.3 or higher
4,5,6,7,8 - ON/OFF: Reserved

Regards!
