Title: optomization of my HD
Post by: hamtronix on September 16, 2007, 07:28:28 PM
I have a GVP HC+8 SCSI 2.1GB in my A2000 and I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on optomizing the settings for increased performance. Also what rates are common with SCSI.

If I am not completely mistaken, the max transfer of SCSI II is 10 MB/sec and FAST SCSI II is 20 MB/sec. But max possible transfer in an amiga... 5 - 9 MB/sec

In a GVP impact series II, if you get 3000KB/s you are very lucky.
On my amiga 500 with GVP Impact Series II Card (A500 HD8+), 9MB of Ram and 68010 I get around 1999KB/s (acording to sysinfo benchmark) with IBM DCAS-32160 SCSI2 HDDs of 2GB.
I have guru rom (omniscsi.device is faster and supports bigger drives) instead of gvp rom (gvpsci.device)
