Post by: JohnFante on September 16, 2007, 01:23:12 PM
Has anybody succeeded in installing/running Amithlon on Vmware?

On my version 6 Vmware it halts with a corrupted screen after showing the Amithlon logo.

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

I have played with Amithlon on an older AMD system.

During my testing I found that certain USB settings caused the system to halt during boot sequence.

Disableing USB entirely worked.
Also my older machine had a bios setting for legacy USB, I could enable USB, but disable legacy USB support and the system would also boot.
I was unable to get that feature to work correctly.

I tried several older video cards and they all appeared to work.

I did get network support using an older model realtek NIC.

I was unable to use any sound, the onboard SIS chipset did not appear to be supported.

Have fun with your project.
