Well hello after being told to move some of stuff out of the loft I uncovered buried treasure I forgotten about now I don’t know what to do sell it or keep is anyone in the uk(Kent) in the market for a large Amiga lot or maybe swapes I don’t even know if its worth anything having trawled through eBay people seem to want ridiculous amounts of money for some stuff but hay one mans rubbish is another’s mans gold its good to see the Amiga is still going strong :-D
-
Make a list/take some pics of what you've got there. We'll be able to tell u what it is and what it's worth and which ones of us can go and get it :)
-
@BinoX
We can't actually tell him what anything's worth. All we seem to be able to do is tell people that stuff is worth what people will pay, and then also that they want way way too much.
-
cheers peeps is it alright to list it here
-
OK.. I'll be able to tell him what I think they are worth :) And then hopefully be able to afford said items and go and get them :D
(I don't have much amiga stuff... honest... lol)
Yeah, sure. Listing them here is fine :)
-
If you come across any SX-32 pro's let me know! Anyone else for that matter! :-)

Also if I dare say it on here some st stuff to
-
Well, the working A3000 will fetch a nice price :)
The A3000 case (and broken motherboard) might also be useful to someone.. (How much you want for that.. sent to cornwall, through royal mail?)
Blizzard 1230 would usually reach at least £50 on ebay (usually more though)
The A1200s will fetch something too...
The boxed A500 might make something, but A500s were quite common so I dunno if the box would up the value or not...
The rest of it is almost give-away stuff.. so if you sell the A3000 that works, throw it in with it :)
Edit: and the ST is throw-away stuff lol (just joking I know a lot of ppl liked their STs)
-
was only looking for a hardware modded xbox or £100 for the lot inc the st stuff
-
£100 for the lot... You could get more than that on ebay to be honest...
If I could get to Kent I would take you up on the £100 for the lot offer, but cornwall to Kent is a long way.. and the petrol or train cost would more than double that price...
If you could post it we may be able to come to some arrangement :)
-
shame your down there and im up here would like to see it all go to some one thats into the whole amiga/ppc thing your collection already looks mighty fine would love to see it i had a mad year of collecting a few years ago and had a grand idea of running a bbs using pay as u go mobiles but most of my other hobbys have taken away my time now that we are expecting our first baby we are having a mass sort out of my stuff
-
lol yeah. My Fianceé is expecting too..
But I still get to keep all my stuff :)
Thanks for the comment on my collection. :) My signature isn't all of it, just the main parts.
I'm pretty sure that someone on here will take you up on the offer though. Since it is a good deal :)
If no-one else gets it within the week then I'll see if I can get up there, or send a family member who lives close by :)
The thing you can know for sure if I do get it though, is that I'll clean it up, expand it and make sure it stays in working order. :)
-
binox dont forget prob be able to knock me down on the price since you been really helpful and seem a nice man any idea on the earthing prob with the a3000
also are there any dial up bbs going im stuck in a tiwewarp i know a lot are on telnet but realy want that feeling am i going to get a carrier tone or someones mum
-
The earthing problem is probably just a loose connection inside the power supply itself.. Open it up and see if there's anything obvious, like the earth wire has come off and is very near anything at all...
If not that then I'm sure an AT power supply could be modified to fit in an A3000 case and be usable :)
As for dial up BBSes.. afraid not.. I've only seen 1 active in the last 5 years and that's been shut down now :(
Is there any way that u could send the stuff down (check out www.parcel2go.com for a cheap courier)..
-
Kent is too far away from Oxford or I'd be there.
Why would you want a hard-modded xbox when you can softmod in 5 mins flat, and you'd never notice the difference?
-
ill have a look i myself work as a hgv driver for royal mail so know its possible at a cost it a shame cause my depot onlys deals with going as far as bristol but dont really want to intrust the job to my work collegues
-
alexh dont really mind as long as it got the stuff i need on it evo x etc+ bigger hard drive not the 8 gigs microsoft supplys + roms+roms roms and emulators all set up ready to play plus i want my dreambox to stream to it over a network not interested in playing xbox games so dont need the xboxlive that the soft moded ones cant provide yes i know i could do it on a pc but a pc does not look right in the living room unless you spend serious amounts of money plus i may want to put a xbox in to my jamma cab latter on
-
Cool :) Thx :) Let me know either by private message or in this thread how things go :)
-
give us a day or so and ill try to box it and get a weight for it all and give every one a idea on price to post it its more likely to be in the pallet size dont worry ill get back to all interested as ive dragged it all down from the loft and it aint going back ill pop in to this fourm over the next couple of hours/days to check to see whats going on
also ill gladly meet any one round m25 services clackets/ lakeside/south mims side as i can do all these in a hour as long as you pay my petrol+toll on top which would not be more than £15
-
wow alexh just had a look at your site there some names from the past lost boys / TCB are these the disks i used to get my gruby little hands on in the playground
tip my hat to you sir
Oxfords not to far from the m25
-
Sorry to drift off the topic here but alexh looking at the Minimig project is it ready for commercial release as it looks like a good thing to kickstart the Amiga brand again where can I get some more info on it or posibly see one in action or even buy one
-
MiniMig is a homebrew project. It's not ready for commercial release because it almost certainly a breech of copyright.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minimig
While several people have made their own PCB's using the existing designs, no one is selling them populated due to the amount of time, or money that would need to be invested.
-
I'd be interested in taking one of the A1200's off your hands, but it would need to be posted as I'm in Glasgow.
Judging by e-bay the going rate for postage seems to be about £12 if that helps any?
How much do you want for 1 1200?
-
is there a international airport near kent ? :-P

If I were you, I'd keep some of it - even just the 1200+Accel or 3000 !
I managed to hang on to two 1200's and AmigaOne through 3 births !
my youngest has just moved into her own room, so I got a new desk with my bigbox amiga on, and a massive clearout headache - wife wants me to tidy up, but I dont want to chuck out ! suppose I could lose some of the books...
I think the trouble is that us blokes like to hoard (I have a crate FULL of liberated mains and data cables in th'outhouse) and wimmin like to tidy.
good luck with the new arrival !

@addzz
Gah! Can't afford it it seems :( Otherwise I'd come up there this weekend.. lol.. Nice load of stuff though.
@Agafaster
If you don't wanna ditch stuff, feel free to post 'em to me. if you ever get any room back I can always send them back :)
-
Hi!,
I'm in Southborough, Tunbridge Wells (Kent).
I'll be more than happy to buy for the asking price?
Regards
Fatboy

Well thanks for everyone’s help im in two minds ive seem to have underestimated the attention this lot would draw its not the room as I have a few out buildings they could be stored in but what’s the point on hoarding it away its not been used for a few good years and the only thing im likely to boot it up for is a bit of frontier and a few other games on a rainy day The software will eventually degrade away and it seems such a shame as I never realized the Amiga community was going strong and could make use of this stuff what I know in some cases this stuff would end up on one of my most Hated things for this kind of stuff is eBay being resold for a lot more than its being offered here don’t know if I should let people cherry pick or sell as a lot or make a quick buck on eBay Fat boy your very near but would prefer to do swaps with other retro gear or other interesting stuff people have as we all get things we want
My hobbies are-:
Vintage cars/hotrods
Drag racing
Arcade machines(JAMMA BOARDS)
Retro console/computers
Sat TV (DREAMBOX INFO)(MOSC/GLICHERS/INFO)
Also after that moded xbox
Come on people some one must have things I want cash seems so cold and hard this Amiga stuff was collect with love and pride and needs to go to a real loving tech head home

I have stacks of retro consoles. From Atari 2600's to Sega Dreamcast.
I'd be more than happy to do a swap?
