Hi,
I recently purchased a Micronik Scandy internal SD for my second miggy (1D.1). My first one (1D.4) already has a DCE SD installed.
When I installed the Scandy in the 1D.1 machine, I managed to get a picture, but it was extremely dark, couldn't make out text unless it was highlighted, very dark icons etc.
So in the interests of science :) I swapped the SD and the Scandy works in the 1D.4 board (also the DCE works in the 1D.1 board).
While this means I have a solution, its not the one I want, as the DCE fits better in the 1D.4 board with all the other stuff I have attached.
Does anyone know if there are any 1D.1 fixes that would solve this or anything else I could try to get the Scandy working on the 1D.1 board?
And I guess lastly, anyone have a 1D.4 board they want to get rid of?
edit: one more question: which is the best / most stable revision to get?

All legacy hardware build for a1200 was based on 1d1.
Compatibility is somewhat guaranteed for that revision.
When HW is incompatible with older than 1d4 MB revisions, there are fixes usually found on aminet to cope with problems,
Those fixes usually do nothing when chipset update
(buster is the only chip that was actually updated through the a1200 production history)is needed for latest hardware to work in an A1200.
All you need to trace and find s where exactly the incompatibility lies on and apply the appropriate fix to get your HW to work with your 1d1.

You can take a look on Ian Stedman's homepage (http://www.ianstedman.co.uk/Amiga/amiga_hacks/A1200_Mobo_fix/a1200_mobo_fix.html).
He have a lot of nice hacks to fix problems with Amiga related hardware.

Hi,
Thanks I had a look. The fixes seem to be pretty revision 2B specific. (although I can't get to the page to check right now :( )
There is definitely something wrong with this board. Without the SD, using a 23-9 pin converter and in mode displayable by my monitor, the screen displays with about an inch of the right hand side cut off!
Strange...
I found a cheap 1d.4 revision board on eBay and have ordered it as a replacement. I'll get by without the rightmost inch of the screen for now.
