Title: A1000 Yellow screen
Post by: kernal on September 13, 2007, 11:12:47 PM
Hello,

I have an A1000 that gives me a yellow screen when going through the bootup check. Yellow is suppose to mean that the 68000 has found an error before the GURU error checking code was loaded. This is a pretty broad error I guess. I have tried reseating all of the socketed chip, as well as the daughter board, but still nothing.

I noticed that the screen turns yellow at exactly the same time the floppy drive grinds. Could a yellow screen be caused by a bad floppy drive?

Thanks

Hi
Do you have the kickstart in ROM or on disk as original A1000 ?

If you still have a kickstart on disk, and a floppy problem, sure you can't boot.

Hi,
like I said in the last thread about A1000,
use a teethbrush and contact spray cleaner and brush each chips and theirs supports and each connectors, change all capacitor even if they still look good.

Then tell us what happen.

The funniest thing.... even though the screen is yellow, when I put the kickstart disk in, it still boots, and prompts for the workbench disk....

I thought that it prompts you for a kickstart as well, not a yellow screen....
