Dear Amiga friends,
I use the 4x IDE'99 in my mirrage tower together with the mediator sx. I am trying to install my genuine workbench 3.9 (not SE)CD rom, but i keep getting the error on the boot up (from the emergency disk) like :
Please insert volume Amiga os 3.9 in any drive
i did however boot up with the emergency disk and the CD rom inserted, it seems not to get acces to the cd rom. If i bootup normaly everything runs fine, including acces to the cd rom.
The CD rom is connected to the 4x ide in jumper set to master.
Does anyone know what to adjust on the emergency floppy disk startup sequence to make it work?
Thanks in advance for your time and effort !

You need to copy 4xEIDE.driver to your emergency disk's C: folder, then modify the startup-sequence to call it right after SETPATCH.
Edit: Sorry, it looks like the Elbox installer puts it before SETPATCH. Here's the bit of script that gets added to the top of the SS. Of course, for an emergency disk you only need the "C:4xEIDE.driver QUIET" line.
C:CheckLMB
IF WARN
SYS:Prefs/4xEIDEPrefs
ENDIF
C:4xEIDE.driver QUIET
