Title: Zorro 2 catweasel and pc high density floppies
Post by: ha4mnu on September 02, 2007, 08:20:43 PM
Hello,

I have a zorro 2 catweasel in my a4000 060 and i am having problems with reading pc floppies. The amiga dd and hd reading are fine so the hardware must be fine.

When i put a pc 1.4 floppy in the disk drive and mount ph0: in cli there is no disk activity or information returned in cli window.

In the shell window i can type ph0: and i get a no disk in drive error. I have crossdos v42.5 and a dos driver is storage.

What am i missing?
I expect its a software problem or am i wrong?

thanks

Martin N

Are you using a commercial version of CrossDOS?

Does the floppy read properly on a real PC?

The same happens here, too.
It seems that the commercial version of CrossDOS file system doesn't work with the Catweasel mountlists.

Why not use fat95? Free and works fine.

Looking at what you wrote above, is your driver in Storage, or Devs?  It won't work from the Storage Drawer.

Do you use a workbench version of crossdos with the catweasel?
If so which version 3.0 or 3.1 or 3.9?

I havent got a clue how to use fat95 and i thought it was for hard drives anyhow. My amiga knowledge has faded of recent since moving over windies/linux.

I moved the drivers to devs:dosdrivers but it still doesnt work  :(

"New Shell process 9
9.OS39Fuji:> mount ph0:
9.OS39Fuji:> ph0:
ph0:: no disk in drive
9.OS39Fuji:>"
