You might try this. I read about them on Usenet years ago when the idea was developed. I just ordered mine and I've heard they work well. I'll let you know when I get it.

This sounds clever.
Does anyone know if using something like this will reduce performance in any way? (Or any other technical issues.)

I have read that SIMMS are "page mode" and not "static column" like some of the ZIP's are, and that will cause a slight performance hit. That is unless you are already using "page mode" ZIP's.
The only other thing I can think of is if the board physically interferes with anything like a CPU card, ect.

There is also the real thing from Amiga.ca

People who've tried that sort of thing have written that it's very difficult to get all the pins lined up correctly when installing it on the motherboard.

I don't doubt that a bit :-o

If you act fast, there is a card on eBay right now that allows using SIMMs rather than ZIP! It's got a buy it now price of $65.00.
These things are great!

I took a look at their web site (www.amiga-digital.nl) and they seem to be making these things.
