Hi there,
I've an A600 and it has a problem where every time the floppy drive checks for a disk the screen does a little "bounce" (like if you turn on a strong magnetic field near to a an old TV)
Any ideas what might be wrong ?
(The floppy drive works fine)
Thanks
Mark

Nope ... I was wrong .. changing the floppy didn't fix it, still got bouncy screen after I reassmbled the machine .... earthing problem ?!?

Bad electrolytic caps on the mobo AND on the PSU.
Change all! It's inexpensive (a few caps can be buyed for no more than US$15.00, including those of the PSU).
Check for oxidation ("rust") on the power conector, too.

Ahh .. worth a go .. just going to have fun working out types I need though, any pointers ?
Thanks!

Look for SMD ones, if you want to keep the machine as original as possible (on the mobo side).
For the PSU ones, any piece is good enough, but look for 105 celsius grade for lastability/durability/realibility.

I'd go for 105°C types only - not much price difference and they'll last longer.

Please tell us what happened after the caps exchange.
