I have read many instructions but am still unable to get the UAE to work on OS X.
Can anyone point me towards a simple and complete instruction set to install UAE on OS X 10.4.10?

Hey,
Yes ive just been playing about with this today (specifically the new version of E-UAE for OSX (On my PPC mini))
Bascially, you need to have a kickstart rom at hand... the easiest way to set it up is to use Hi-Toro, A GUI configuration tool for OSX, what I do is set all the paths in that, save it and then load that up from E-UAE.
Heres the links for the latest E-UAE and Hi-Toro:
http://www.rcdrummond.net/uae/e-uae-0.8.29-WIP4/e-uae_0.8.29-WIP4_macosx-ppc_sdl.dmg.gz (http://www.rcdrummond.net/uae/e-uae-0.8.29-WIP4/e-uae_0.8.29-WIP4_macosx-ppc_sdl.dmg.gz) (Direct Download)
http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/unix_open_source/hitoro.html (http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/unix_open_source/hitoro.html)
:-D
Hope that helps, if you do a google search you should be able to find a more indepth tutorial, although It is pretty straight-forward once you configure it.

I also used E-UAE and Hi_Toro. I have a working A4000 :-)

I compiled e-uae-0.8.29-WIP4 myself on OSX v10.4.10 (Intel). I can send you the binaries if you wish.

I would like those binaries emailed to me so I can compare it against Windows XP Pro running WinUAE. I would love to get rid of Windows on as many machines as I can.

Thanks for those links - I was just about to give up looking.
I'm more interested in stability than features so should I still get the current WIP4 for Mac PPC or is there an older version that's more stable?
With stability in mind, what version is recommended for OS4?

I still feel like a turkey. I can't get it to work. I have 10.4.10 and using the Intel version.
I honestly feel dense, is there not a dmg package that installs everything (please don't through anything at me).
I just have to ask.

@sdyates,
No dude, I tried to get E-UAE and hi-torro setup on my former Mac Mini and had no luck. There must be something somewhere that is just not clearly labeled.
I dont think were both dense

I'm a mac user. Let me see if I can get it to work on my Macbook Pro. If I'm successful, I try and give a few pointers. If not, then I'll be sharing the 'dunce' cap with you two.

Thanks a lot as I would agree with the previous post, we are not dumb as a door post here...

Have you installed the SDL library?
ThinkCommodore.com (http://www.thinkcommodore.com/Amiga/AmigaEmulators/EUAEQuickGuide/EUAEQuickGuide.html) has a helpful setup guide.

Got it working with a basic A500 with 512k chip mem and 1mb fast mem. Got the insert disk graphic and was able to load and run workbench 1.3 (ahh happy days) from a floppy image.
Here is what I did
1) Downloaded the above linked programs
2) I dragged the Hi-Toro 0.5.0 folder into my applications folder.
3) I put the emulator folder inside this folder and renamed the folder UAE
4) In the Hi-Toro folder I made a new folder called ‘configs’
5) The next step was to get the ROMS. I used the Cloanto Amiga Forever CD. Inside the UAE folder, I made a subfolder named ‘Roms’. I dragged the ROMS (and the romkey decryption if you are using Amiga Forever) in the ‘Roms’ Folder.
6) Next I ran Hi-Toro.
7) In The Hi-Toro menu under preferences, the first line asks for the location of E-UAE. I used the ‘select’ button to navigate to the location. In my case it was at /Applications/Hi-Toro 0.5.0/UAE/E-UAE.app. I then Hit OK
8) Back on the main screen of Hi-Toro I clicked on Overview. In the description, I put A500. This will be the name of the configuration.
9) On the ROM table, under ROM: I used the select to point the app at where the Amiga rom resides. Do NOT press OK at the bottom as that launches the emulator.
10) Under Key: I pointed it at the decryption key (Amiga forever only) Do not press OK
11) Under Ram: Chip Ram was grayed out but I set the slider for fast ram at 1MB Again NO to the OK button
12) Under CPU I chose the 68010 – No OK
13) Under Chipset: OCS – No OK
14) Under Display: Whatever you fancy. I used smart centering for horizontal and vertical – No OK
15) Everything else I left alone for now – No OK
16) From the Configuration menu at the top of the screen, choose save and save the config in your folder (I used my configs folder)
17) Now Press OK on the Hi-Toro control panel. Should work.

THanks!
This is the furthest I have gotten yet. I get Dos to come up on A1.3, but it does nto load fully and the screen does not completely display -- this is minor. Thanks much!
-
My screen was off a little bit to the left so I used the smart settings in Center Horizontal and vertical.
Sounds like you are getting close though. Glad I could help in some way

Believe me, I am so very happy... I cannot even get my A500 to play the New tek demo -- their second one!
I don't feel as bad about selling my Amigas because I can have them here on my mac.
-
Does anyone have a copy of the first Newtek Demo?
I cannot seem to find that one anywhere...
