Title: blizzppc.device
Post by: flaviosr on August 30, 2007, 10:46:44 PM
Hi to all,

today I put my hand on a BlizzardPPC 603+.
Now I have a problem... where can I find the drivers for the SCSI interface!
I have configured the chain (two CDs and one HD) but obviously my OS3.1 cannot see the HD!!!

Ciao and thank you

Inside the flashrom.

If you use some other partitioning tool than SCSIConfig, you need to specify the device to use, for example
Code: [Select]
HDToolBox blizzppc.device

The Amiga does not see anything! :(
Do I have to make some particular settings in the BIOS?
Please note that I have starting a flat OS3.1 from standard floppies...

startup a Shell.

type:

HDToolBox blizzppc.device

Then edit what you need to.

You should enable "1 LUN" for the SCSI units in use. Use ESC key to enter the BPPC "BIOS".

IIRC BPPC defaults to all 7 units having LUNs enabled, but perhaps the previous owner might have had them disabled for faster startup (every unit with enabled LUN(s) is probed at startup, adding to boot time).

Ok... I made a step.
I used what above but... nothing.
Then I remember I had the SCSI Tools from my Blizzard SCSI IV and used them...
SCSIConfig... nothing...
UnitControl... something...
4 errors (1 for each CD drive and 2 for the HD)! :-(
"
Serious error
Unit 0 (or 1 or 2)
DRIVER: Phase Mismatch
"
My SCSI Control Menu (BIOS):
CDs:
Mode: On (LUN 1 for all)
  Synchron: AUTO
  BusWidth: AUTO
  Reselection: AUTO
  Mount: YES
  Removable: AUTO
  CDMount: Yes
HD:
  Mode: On (LUN)
  Synchron: AUTO
  BusWidth: AUTO
  Reselection: AUTO
  Mount: YES
  Removable: AUTO
  CDMount: No

Is this ok?

Ciao and thanx

Phase Mismatch

You SCSI cable is not terminated correctly. Read the BPPC manual to learn hot to build a correct SCSI chain.

You can get the manual from here (http://phase5.a1k.org/index.php?id=2) if you don't have a printed copy.

Bye,
Thomas

Got the same problems years ago !
AmigaCenter fixed it. It was the 68060 of my ppc that needed a "rework". The 68k part of the BPPC manage the RAM and the SCSI interface. :rtfm:
