I am one of the people who is interested in a pre-assembled Minimig but will probably never manage to get one because of the "only 10 pre-assembled minimigs per run" policy.
I was wondering if any people like myself, are interested in a pre-assembled board, we should put our names down in this thread perhaps we convince someone to make a pre-assembled run, or maybe, someone sees some money in it and starts assembling them himself and selling them for an appropriate profit.
Hopefully this was a good idea anyway, if its not dont flame me :-P

Although i would also want one we should show some gratitude for the work that has all ready been made, also note that those 10 pre are the first no one know how well they would work out yet no need to produce 100x if they all turned out too have some birth issues .. As for me i can wait or even pass the chance who knows maybe there will be a bigger production run or maybe not i just gues i have to wait and see ,,. Until then keep the dream open

Sure I am grateful - after all this is a real amiga being produced :D
The only problem is that in unassambled form its not of any use to me as I can't solder, or even buy the components (heck, I don't even know what they are). Perhaps many other people feel the same.
If not, no problem, I'm the odd one out :-P

As adonay said, these 10 boards are just some of the first ones being produced and are limited by number because they are being assembled by one man for (from what I can see) no profit.
Now that the v1.1 specs are out, expect more individuals to have a stab at assembly and a few people to perhaps try a profit making production run. If such a run is made then expect the price to increase for professional assembly and to cover waranty and defective units if they are being sold by businesses.
That said, put me down for at least 2 boards and possibly 3.

Well exactly that - I was wondering if someone would sell them pre-assembled for some profit :)

I hope so. I read somewhere about a company doing a production run, but no prices were mentioned. Harold Frank apparently wanted to do a run of the v1.0 boards so perhaps he'll make some v1.1 boards now the plans are available.
Personally, I think it would be great if someone like Amigakit could organise something. They're one of the few dealers that I would actually trust to pre-pay if necessary.

Yup, I guess one can only wait.
A bit out of topic... what sort of compatability should one expect with Minimig 1.1? Is there a list of known-working and non-working games? That would be a nice Wiki.
Also how do games run? Are .adf files put in the flashcard?

I was JUST about to start up my own thread about this!
Yes, please, someone make a ready to use Minimig. If it keeps to the original Minimig formfactor, I'd like it to come with a matching custom case, or a mounting bracket to put it in a standard case.
(P.S. Lets try and keep the "what enhancements shall we give Minimig" suggestions to a minimum in this thread... I know, its easy for me to say that 10 seconds after I said my own piece.. But I'm trying to keep it relevant to this thread :)
And by all means, ADD YOUR PROFIT onto the price. You'd be providing a service and you deserve to make some money for all the time and trouble. A side donation to Dennis would be great too.. after all, he put the 3 years in or so. :)
I'm poor right now, but I'm guessing that by the time someones done what we've asked for, I'll have money again. :)

Hey! Count me in with at least 4/5 Pre-assembled, to satisfy all my Amiga friends in this part of the world!!!
No one here knows anything about soldering and/or programming an FPGA so a pre assembled kit sounds just too good...

Your not on your own mate.
The only reason I know one end from the other on a soldering iron, is because one end burns your fingers.
I definitely want one ready made.

I'd be interested in 2 pre-assembled boards.
