Here is a list of the items in this auction:
-Amiga 4000/040 with cables
-Keyboard
-Prisma Frame Machine card with Electronic Design PAL genlock box and cables (including the Y-cable)
-1084S monitor (possibly faulty. This item is not included in this lot. If you are interested in the monitor, contact me)
The items have not all been 100% tested. I did not get a stable image,
but this could have been a faulty monitor. I can't guarantee it all works, read about my experiments below.
Let me explain why. I found this box at my old work, a large commercial broadcasting cooperation in Belgium.
They had used it for an old TV quizshow. When the show was over, the Amiga and its accesories ended up in a box. I found the box and asked if
they were using it, they said I could have it. In the technicians lab they normally had the policy that if something could not be fixed, it
would end up in the trash. Unless ofcourse they could use parts of it or think that one day someone could fix it. Nobody could tell me for sure,
but they said it should still be working, they just have more modern hardware nowadays to do the frame grabbing / digitising stuff.
I hooked up the system but never really got far, because the monitor was
not displaying properly. Perhaps a sync problem in the monitor or the
graphics card. I made an experimental SCART cable for the amiga
(included). When I hooked the Amiga up to a working TV monitor the image
was skew (probably because the Amiga uses a different H-sync and V-sync
frequency). However, I did manage to distinguish some Workbench image
and get the keyboard to move the mouse and reset the Amiga. It sounded
fine, all the insides and circuit boards look fine and the case has been handled well.
It looks like it was rarely used and almost like new.
So I got a good feeling that everything should work properly with a
working monitor or someone with some Amiga hardware experience.
I took the box home with me from work, and it's been here for several
years know. I've given up the hobby idea to try to fix it again (e.g. by hooking up a working monitor).
I decided not to spend any more time on it, but I'm sure someone can put it into good use.
