I have a mediator in a mirage pro and have been having problems getting a soundblaster working. The system keeps crashing when the mixer loads.
I am wondering if there is a tutorial online for setting-up the mediator that gives a clue on what is needed? I would appreciate any help I can get.
Thanx

Make a drawer called "Mixer" in "ENVARC:Mediator/" .
Then run GhostMix, adjust the volume levels you want, SAVE & reboot. Now you should have sound and no more crashes. :-)

You must install MUI and have MUI assiged in user-startup before the MIXER startup line
-
When you use GhostMix, you don't need 'Mixer' anywhere, just 'GMStart' that's in the GhostMix-package.

Btw, is it possible to have any of the soundcard's inputs active before loading pci.library and Mixer or GMStart?
Or is there soundcards with inputs on as default? (Maybe CD-in?)
As a mediator user I have routed Amiga's own Paula-audio thru SB128 and there is sometimes the need to get the sound even if the Mediator and/or soundcard is not active (startup-chime from the custom rom, using 'say' in s-s, booting the system without s-s etc. etc.).

I have the exact same problem i followed the instructions exactly and the compter freezes up with a suspend/reboot window.

I didn't see that I had to install MUI in the documentation unless I missed it somewhere. I will have to give it a try thanx for the help. I hope I can get this going my next item will be installing a TV tuner card.

ANY peecee soundcard is able to play non-compressed audio (like that comes from Paula or from the audio output of the CD) directly through the audio out port, IF you put the output (from Paula/CD) in the CD-in ports of the audio card.

I had the crash window *BEFORE* i made the needed directory in ENVARC:
"ENVARC:Mediator/Mixer".
Then run GhostMix, adjust the volume levels you want, SAVE & reboot. Now you should have working sound.
