Hi guys,
I did do RC5-72 for an extremely long time (2+ years) and I slowly am loosing interesting in it. I was wondering how many other amiga.org members still do RC5-72? Should I switch over to the OGR side instead?
My current setup is a dual core 4200+ socket AM2 AMD cpu. it does about 18.2 mil keys a second. Its running now. I leave my computer on just about 24/7, and I wouldnt want to just leave it there doing nothing, but contributing to this kind of project is interesting.
Thanks! :)

The RC5-72 Challenge has been cancelled, though it might be still continued, only that no prizes will be award in case the solution will be found.

I have in the past contributed fot RC5, now I'm considering starting again with the OGR contest instead.

I've been running RC5 for 8 years now and am still at it due to a lack of a suitable alternative.
I've switched over the more potent machines to Folding@Home however (closing in on 80,000 points currently), but the client (and the project) is hardly suited for running it on all our clients machines. :-(

I was crunching RC5-64 in 1997, but RC5-72 seemed pointless so I immediately switched to OGR when RC5-64 ended.
I have been looking at other distributed projects recently too and I may switch to one of the BOINC projects when OGR completes, or perhaps distributed.net's new project will be interesting too. I'm unlikely to be interested in a crypto cracking project, I think I'd like to put my cycles towards something with more tangible benefits.
Einstein or LHC@home seem attractive right now though Folding@Home is getting all the popular attention. Are there Amiga teams for any of those?
BTW, I went to http://distributed.amiga.org but it appears to have been replaced with a link spam site ? What's up with that?!
