Title: Update on an old Amiga game
Post by: Holmes on August 21, 2007, 07:19:58 PM
Any body followed the status of xtreme racing from Silltunna software ie. new tracks or updates/mods/patches. i found this to be a very entertaining game, but I have lost track of this game.

Also if this would run on the new os it would be perfect.

As a side enquiry, all the options needed to get old games to work on updated hardware (ie caches of different processors, kickstarts, vbr, and others), how are these handled on the new os4. I know on the classic there is wdhload, and one I have used, Tude, but this would be interesting.

p.s this might need another thread?, I hope the first question
is in the correct forum!

Thanks for the reply, there's plenty to wade through there!

I brought the datadisk with extra tracks, and also tracks off
of an magazine year's a go. It's a pity it can't get a major revamp for the future

you can not run non-system friendly games on OS4.

Old games have to be run through the OS4 Version of UAE

That's certainly the case with an A1. But what if the hardware that a non-system friendly game needs to poke is present?

not 100% sure a classic os4 betatester can confirm

but os4 disables the 68k cpu, so classic games will not work on os4 on classic miggy
