Title: Has anybody made a succesful samba connection to a Vista PC?
Post by: leofoe on August 19, 2007, 09:26:42 AM
What worked very well under Windows XP, is broken with Vista. What I'm trying to do is connect to a share on my Vista computer from my A4000 (OS3.9 and AmiTCP4.2) with smbfs. Whatever I configure on the Windows machine, I always get error 54, Connection reset by peer.

It seems to be no longer possible: See page 86. (http://www.linux-magazine.com/issue/75/Microsoft_Vista_With_Linux_Interoperability.pdf). Unless someone modifies the Amiga smbfs code.

I switched to FTP to discover that also doesn't work flawlessly.
Ncftp from AmiTCP works, but tools like AmiFTP of FTPMount don't work at all or with glitches only.

I tried this, but it doesn't make any difference. So the question remains...
