Besides your Amigs, what other vintage computers
do you own?
I have:
My first kit computer built when I was in 8th grade,
the COSMAC ELF (Still fun to play with)
My first turnkey System, a TRS-80 Model I, with expansion
interface a big 32k (Thats kilobytes, not Megs or Gigs),
and 2 big 5 1/4 180k single sided single density floppy's
Still works great.
My second turn key system, an IBM PCjr with a Racore 2nd
drive, and 640k (Remember when Bill Gates Said 640k was all
anyone would ever need?)
I also have several Timex Sinclar 1000's and memory packs
What do you guys have?

I didn't count Video games, I have an original Atari Pong

100 portable, but with a larger screen.
No one has Atari 400/800's or a Ti 99/4A, I'm suprised.

I've got a homebrew Z80 based system built from marious magazine articles....

SX-64... sold off a huge collection of old machines a few years ago... was moving and needed space.
Decided I needed at least one C64 so I picked one with floppy and monitor built in :)
I just wish I hadn't sold the mint one.. my current one has a few scratches :(
-
@Amiga92570
WOW! Another Astrocade guy! I thought I was one of only like 5 left in the universe! I have a couple of those, too.
I've got a VIC-20, a few C64s (a boxed 64 and 1541), an SX-64 that I've still got to repair, a boxed +4, and some various other 8-bit C= gear.
Then, of course, the Amiga stuff. (boxed 500, an A1200/030, lightly upgraded 500 with Supra Hard Drive, A3000, A4000, etc.)
Some SGI gear (Octane R10k SSE, Indigo2 R4k Teal [not currently booting])

I also have an old IBM portbale with an orange plasma screen.
I also have a Goldstar 3DO Game Console.
-
@IIwrath
Astrocade was my first real computer till I got a Vic. Heck I am still awaiting the Zgrass expansion. :-D
-
Only got Amigas now but I used to have a ZX-Spectrum (which was my first computer) and a C64 but 8-bit computers are so boring I think. An Amiga is much more fun to play with.
-
zx +3
-
All I've got (apart from my A1200 and A4000) is a Powerbook 520c. I got it just to have a play with the classic Mac OS, I can see Apple felt they had to change the whole thing for OS X :-) I'm also getting an Apple eMate to play with.
I used to have a Dragon32 and a Spectrum +3 a long time ago.
-
I mostly have Commodores, but I have some others. First, I've got a TI-99/4a, the first computer I ever used. Looks and works just as well now as it did when new! Also have an Atari 2600 (not the original one I had as a kid, I traded that one for weed when I was a teenager).
As far as Commodores... I've got a few C64 and C128 computers (some are just for parts), a C128D, a Plus/4, and a dead C16. Oh, and a VIC-20 that almost never gets used (I only have like 2 working cartridges and theyre not great).
I'd like to get a few other types of non-Commodore computers some day just to mess around with. Commodore's where my heart is though. I'd like to get a PET and an SX-64 some day.
-
I've got a:
TI99/4A, PEB expansion, Speech Synth, tons of carts
2 AT&T UnixPCs, 7300 and 3b1
1 Atari 1040STE
(Used to have a PET)
...in addition to my Amigas. :-)

Amigas are still my favorites and most exciting!

Wow, my "collection" seems small in comparison to some others here, but here it is:
Amiga 500
2x Amiga 3000
2x Atari 800XL
Atari 130XE
Apple ][gs Woz edition
Toshiba 1000 (like Tandy 100)
Semi-classic TI TravelMate 4000 laptop
-Ed-
-
I still have my NEZ8000 (a clone of the Sinclair ZX-80), only 1k RAM + 512 bytes ROM, without the "slow" function :headwall:
No use today.
And a Atari 2600 "woodie", buyed new in the 80s. Ok, ok, no videogames here. :-D
-
@wildstar1063
I have a Sam Coupé stored away.
-
Sinclair ZX Spectrum +2B (James Bond pack)
-
Pegasos2
-
Let's see...
Non-Commodore KIM-1
Sinclair ZX81 w/16K RAM expansion unit (busted)
Commodore Vic 20 w/C2N cassette unit
Commodore 64 w/1541 & 1581 drives & 1702 monitor
Commodore Plus/4
Commodore 128D w/extra 1571 drive & 1902A monitor
Commodore Amiga 2000 w/1084S (broken) & 1080 monitors
Apple Macintosh SE30 (broken monitor)
Amiga 1200
I have two non-vinatage retro machines:
Briel Replica-1
Briel Micro-KIM
I also have two machines that are borderline vintage/retro:
Silicon Graphics O2
Digital Equipment Corp P500 Alpha Station (no RAM)
All my machines work except where noted. I'm the proud original owner of the A2000 and the C64. The ZX81 is a replacement for my now lost Timex Sinclair 1000. The A2000 is fully loaded with a GVP030 combo board with max RAM, multiple SCSI drives, a SCSI CDROM drive, a Cybervision 64/3D board, and an X-Surf ethernet board.
My current plans to expand the collection consist of adding a Vic 1541 for the Vic 20, a 1551 for the Plus/4, an Amiga 500, an Amiga 1000, and probably a C64C w/1541C drive.

No one asked, but, I've been collecting all sorts of old technology. I love devices that built to last and are made to be repaired.
Treadle powered sewing machines and hand-powered tools
any electronics with tubes, especially SW radios and stereos (tube stuff is disappearinf fast!)
Reel2reel tape decks
Dual turntables and records (No, I don't have 8-tracks)
I have 4 Sony Betamaxes and still use them!
mechanical typewriters and calculators
magic lanterns
Yea, I'm a case, but my wife is understanding. Grin
-
Funny you should mention tubes, My father has boxes of new tubes in his attic from back in the sixties and seventies when he had a radio and tv repair shop. Still has a couple old tube testers, I have one that he gave me about 25 years ago. Still works like a charm. :-)
-
Besides the Amigas, we have some PCs, several video game machines, and two Z80 systems.
I am the only one in the family who is still interested in Amigas and Z80 systems.

In addition to my 500, 600, 1200, 3000 and 4000 I have:
A woodgrain 6-switch Atari 2600 and a couple of shoe boxes of games!
For Commodore equipment I have a C64 System with a 1084S, a 1541 and 1571 drive, a CMD FD-2000 3.5 drive, and an 803 printer. I also have 2 SX-64s "portable" 64s and a C128.
I also have a few old Macs including a Mac Classic and a Mac 6500 which I recently rebuilt. Someone earlier asked where to get ADB mice and trackballs...I've had good luck on EBay where I've found new ADB keyboards at good prices.
In short, I have way too many computers and way too little space to use them!! Thank goodness I have an understanding wife! However, she's insisting that our next house have a basement!

OK, now for the bonus round, what age did everyone lose their virginity (if you have)? Curious how that maps to the people with giant lists haha...
Just kidding ;)
-
Do they sell used virginity on ebay?
-
My first "system" was a Timex Sinclair 1000, with a whopping 16Kb of expansion RAM
I don't have the TI/994A with the expansion box any more, but that was a trully powerful setup for its day.
Then there was the C-64 that changed things, and the SX-64 and C-128 and C-128D. I don't have the originals any more, but I do still have a working C-64, and C-128. The C-128 still sees a lot of use.
-
I had a Texas Instruments 99-4/A but I gave that to a good home.
I still have one of the all black Atari 2600's with controllers and games
I have my C64C, with a 1541 II and 1581 drive.
I have a C128 that someone gave me with an original 1541
I have a Tandy TL 1000 with 768k RAM and 2 Floppy drives and some sort of hard drive with the old Renegade BBS software installed on it.
I have an old 486 dx 50 in a 3 foot tall tower with IBM's OS/2 Version 3 on it.
And that is about it. I need to get rid of some of that.
-
I still use these:-
Commodore C128
Commodore Plus4
Commodore C16 (added 64K ram)
ZX Spectrum 48K
ZX Spectrum 128K gray case
ZX Spectrum 128k+2B
ZX SPectrum 128k+3A
Mike.
-
I have a 1997 Ford Escort and a C128 in the garage. I never used the C128 but still use the Escort. :-)
-
Do they sell used virginity on ebay?
The question is whether anyone would BUY virginity on ebay.
-
Jeeze no reason to list every single computer you have guys... Preserve some bandwidth! LOL
-
There's an old Odyssey2 of mine sitting in my Dads attic, if that counts. :-)
-
Not counting PC's ...
>TI99/4A (Looking for a new home)
>Commodore PET
>Sinclair ZX spectrums and ZX +3 (Also looking for a new home)
>Intel 4040 development kit (Programmed in hex, these units were sold to the military and universities just as processors became available).
>Not so much a computer - A FORCE card with 68020 and 68882 - Used in mobile phone basestations. Might post some photos some time.
