Title: Running games in Winuae
Post by: trekiej on August 17, 2007, 03:27:55 AM
I am thinking of buying some games from Amigakit.com  and I want to know what games are good and what are bad.
Thanks.

Keep in mind that it is difficult to read an Amiga disk with a PC unless you have a Catweasel or a second floppy drive and, even then, you can't read copy protected disks.  You need a real Amiga for that.

Napalm and Paypack have had good reviews. You didnt mention in what type of games you like.

You're better off sticking to .ADFs, converting real floppies is a P in the A.  Another reason for using ADFs, you can try before you buy.

Which Amiga games are bad?

Most games work with WinUAE, if that's what you mean? There are some pretty awful Amiga games though, and using old floppies is a hit and miss thing.

Thanks for the feedback.  I just wanted to know if it is worth it or not.  I intend to get a Catweasel and maybe an Amiga4000 Keyboard.

I would like to run the games from cd instead of floppy disc.  I believe it would be better in the long run.  I will have to wait and see what all the pitfalls are.

I plan to buy AmigaForever with the DVDs. It sound like a good buy.

On a side note, I am really planning to run apps like Aladdin4D( which according to Novadesign will work).

Also has anyone tried SYS3, I believe that is what it is called.
Amikit is a package I do like.

Thanks. :-D
