Title: WinUAE - supported screen resolution
Post by: Unit21 on August 16, 2007, 02:56:29 PM
Hi all!

I salvaged a nice Sgi 540 from the trash the other day and thought I'd use it to run WinUAE on top of Win2000.

The screen that comes with it has a native resolution of 1600x1024.

Is this resolution supported by WinUAE?
Also, how does WinUAE perform on multiple processors? The Sgi has four Xeon CPUs...

If your system can display it.

WinUAE is singlethreaded, so it won't take any benefit from multiple CPUs or cores.

Obviously it will be nice to have tons of system resources free even if the emulated amiga is 100% busy...

Use the filter settings to get full screen...  also installing the picasso drivers will make it really nice.

So this means that just one of the processors will work with the WinUAE and the rest will be available to the system?
Can I expect any overhead from the OS on the first CPU or will the whopping 550Mhz be fully available to WinUAE?!
