I've got a Prometheus PCI daughterboard up for grabs. I bought the thing off of redrumloa ages ago, but I never got round to cramming it in my A4000. I only tested it once with the case off, but I didn't have any compatible PCI card about.
Thus, it's as good as new in the box with the metal bracket thingy included etc. The only thing missing is the CD-ROM but I think I have the drivers in an LHA on my harddisk somewhere.
Postage shouldn't be more than 20 EUR worldwide (insured/signed for), less within Europe.
Offers via pmail (It's about 140EUR at amigakit).

Paypal, direct banktransfer, cash by carrier pigeon: all accepted (although I'm no great fan of paypal).

Sold, thanks evillord68 :).

What, nobody wants PCI boards anymore? =)
:bump:
-
probably nobody want a pci board where nothing else except a voodoo vga works on...
-
And network :D (well, and S3 boards..).
-
Hi
Do you still have it?
I would buy it.
Regards.
-
Aye, it's still sitting in it's box tucked away next to the A4k. Send me a PM.
-
If DMA works on it I'm still interested
Send me some more info on my email: jaro.m@inbox.com
regards

I thought that only the GRex has DMA...
-
A DMA patch for Prometheus was being worked on by the author and Michael Boemer of E3B but I fear it has died a death.
Coupled with a bad PCB design (they wanted to make one that would fit in all Amiga's rather than a quality design for each Amiga) which means cards sit 90" from where they should.
-
Yep, the odd orientation was also why I never got round to cramming it into my A4000 desktop. I had plans to get some of those PCI extender thingies and follow redrum's 'how-to-shoehorn-a-prometheus-in-an-a4kd' guide, but well I went abroad for half a year and the A4k's been inside a box eversince I came back (yes, battery removed =)).

Voodoo video 3,4,5 (3 3000 recommended)
VirgeDX
RTL8029AS ethernet card
Catweasel (PCI versions)
Sound card support reported for OS4

What makes you think that the DMA patch from E3B has 'died a death'?
Regards..

I have Prometheus card. It was not upgraded yet ("Matay-ugrade".
I would like to upgrade it.
I am interested in DMA patch for my Prometheus as well.
What should I do. Who could help me.

Contact Matay directly. Last time I checked they would upgrade the firmware for free. However at this point there is no need to unless you are a programmer. AFAIK no supported hardware takes advantage of DMA.

Hi,
The Matay DMA update never worked, only the DMA update from E3B works correctly. However I do not believe it is available at present.
Even without DMA support, the Prometheus is natively supported in OS4* for graphics (Voodoo, Permedia2, others may follow), ethernet (RTL8029), and also audio (ES1938 chipset only).
The mixer of other sound cards such as the Live!, SB128, and others is still supported, but no audio playback/recording can take place, due to lack of real DMA.
Regards
Ross
* Thank you to redrumloa for making this possible by sending me a Prometheus.
-
I've contacted Filip from Matay a couple of weeks ago and he told me Michael had a working solution.
I've just mailed him and will post any news here. Keep your fingers crossed.

Sold.
I thought Matay was closed for business infinately?

Is it the only sound card I can use? What about FM801/OpenPCI?

I almost forgot about that! Your welcome, I'm very glad to see this was helpful. I am happy to see a sound card supported and a little disappointed I don't have an Amiga any longer to use it:-(

Hi,

It is the only sound card that can be used in OS4/Classic, all other sound cards (including FM801) require real DMA. You can use the mixer though.
*Note I am talking about OS4, not OS3.9/OpenPCI*

Ross..
