Does the VT show up in Early Startup under boards or with the command ShowConfig? I have a VT4000 that I cannot see the card when installed. I guess I can try to install the VT software and see if it loads....

As the Video toaster connects to the Video slot (which doesnt have an autoconfig ability) I am confident that it wouldnt show up in the early start menu or the showconfig program. (Both just show autoconfigged cards)

Oli_hd is correct - it doesn't show up.

Well I installed the software last night and it went ok. It works, but Paint seems to have a problem. Get corrupt graphics and it acts funky when I go back to the switcher. I am using OS 3.9. Is this OS compatible with the Toaster? Using Toaster 4000 3.1. I should upgrade to 4.x, are these compatible with OS 3.9?

4.x is primarily designed for the Flyer - not sure you'll get much benefit out of it with only the Toaster. It might be worth going to 3.5, though.
I recently finished building a dedicated Toaster box. In the interests of maximum compatibility / fewest conflicts, I installed the Toaster software over a base install of AmigaOS3.1 - with nothing else installed except AsimCDFS and Envoy. If I want to do non-Toaster things, I created a separate bootable partition for regular Amiga stuff.
The Toaster 4000 manual doesn't even endorse 3.1, except on 4000Ts. Since OS3.9 messes around with memory and ROM updates, it seems like it could cause conflicts. The Toaster eats loads of Chip RAM, so if there's any missing there might be trouble.

You got the 3.5 update? I have archived all the Toaster 4.0 and 4.1 updates to DMS for archival.

Good to read that.
I will receive a Toaster 2000 (loose) and a 4000D/060 soon.
I went to the "OpenToaster" site to get the compilation CD.
So what else will I need ?
I also have a Vlab motion but loose too.
Can you give me some advices ?
