Hi
I was wondering, if it's possible to use my A1200 Kickstart roms (3.1) on my A3000.
Vesalia lists the 3.1 roms as if it would be usable in different systems...
Clicketyclick (http://www.vesalia.de/?V02b0f145251451574595a545209514e01101f01435605551c4a0108515d324c536c352c2c6165693647097c6a2e653b781565636a63372d276b120e4d703f3b6b087248404617655414654b544f4b58574e7f5b603c116a653a3e5b5408701c50657f7471336b6e3b007e6e757c7b23526)
If it's not possible, how do i softkick my A3k to 3.1 so i can install Workbench 3.1?
Regards,
Steve
Edit: Woops, didn't see this line: Please note that every model needs its own version of the Kickstart ROM(s). Only the types summed up in one line are interchangeable.
However, maybe it is possible?

No.

no, you can't use A1200 roms, but yes you can softkick and install wb 3.1. Though you'll want to have some fast ram for that.
-
A3000 use a special version of the 3.1 ks chips.
-
Amigakit sell the 3.1 for a3000.

Who on earth do they buy them from? Or do they just sod who owns the rights and make their own?
-
amigakit.com took the eyetech stock, I bet roms where included too...
-
Well, fast ram isn't really a problem.
How would i go about softkicking then?
The problem is that i need the miggy in 10 days for Evoke, so if i would order the roms now, they can't possibly be here on time... Or maybe they will but i can't possibly have WB installed and fully configured by then.
Thanks in advance

I also needed a set of 3.1 roms and checked with Software Hut they have theirs priced at 42.95 plus shipping. I have a set on order.
I know that there is a program on Aminet that allows you to create a 3.1 kcikstart disk if you have the 3.1 rom image with bonus. The bounus rom is some added bits to the image that allow you to softkick the rom images. Here is the LINK (http://aminet.net/search?query=super+kickstart) for the program.
If you do use the program your boot partition needs to be called WB_2.x or it wont work, also on the boot partition you need to create the DEVS directory so the image will be copied to it.
