I finally managed to get to the post office and get the A1200 in the D-Box tower that I had gotten from amiga92570.
It works great. It looks good. I even remember enough with the Amiga to make it work.
I have the thing hooked up to one of my 1084 monitors. I've got a good display, but it is flickering something hard core. So the question is what do I need to do to convince it to stop flickering? I am not sure what screen resolution I am in at the moment. I thought it was the old Amiga standard, but it looks more like 1024x768.
Any help shall be appreciated. I know, me dumb.

Just a short in the dark here: IIRC the max resolution on a 1084 is 640x512 laced. Maybe it's the 15kHz combined with interlace that you find annoying?
Try opening preferences and change the display resolution to, oh, 640x256 and see if that's better.

Oh no no no - the 1084 allows Max Overscan in NTSC and PAL, at least, mine did, so you can run 724x283 non-laced (724x566 laced) in PAL, and also 724 x whatever NTSC will go to (something over 240 lines).
You should also be able to run SuperHiRes for 1280-1448 horizontal resolution if you want, but things are a little more difficult to see (you have exceeded the actual resolution of the tube at that) and the Workbench becomes quite slow too. Interlace is still possible.
I liked 724x283 PAL, it worked very well.
Edit: that was with H-size and V-size set at minimum as well, and it was pin-sharp. I think the tube would be capable of around 800x600 resolution. Also, I had an early 1084S.
