Title: A1011 Floppy Drive not working
Post by: WhiteDwarf on July 19, 2007, 12:05:34 PM
No disk not present click, nothing...

Is there something simple on the inside that may have burned out, a fuse or something?

I had it apart, but didn't see anything obvious...

Hi,

do you mean there is no movements at all?
You put the floppy and NOTHING happens... in this case I think the electronic part is dead... :-(
I had some problems in the past but the floppy was seen by the drive in some ways but giving errors... I solved the problem cleaning everything.
Try to "hear" if there is no mechanical parts broken...

If nothing can be done, could you be interested in selling me the dead guy?

Ciao

I take a multimeter and check the cable !
then try to exchange the floppy.

Yeah, it's completely dead...

I'll take a meter to it someday...

Maybe the power FROM the Amiga is dead. Try use the floppy on another Amiga, first.
