Title: WB 2.X -> 3.X What to watch out for
Post by: hamtronix on July 16, 2007, 05:51:10 PM
I will be upgrading from WB 2.X to 3.x (after I get the ROMs and soft from software hut) and I have an A2000 with GVP SCSI and ~ 4MB Ram + 1MB chip.

Is there any thing I should look out for or make sure to do to ensure smooth operation?

From my Win experience I feel like a complete wipe and reinstall is preferable is this true with Amiga OS or is it the same/easier to just update?

Any websites dealing with this topic are always welcome and as always y'all rock!

Are you using 2.04 or 2.1? The change from 2.1 to 3.1 should be pretty transparent. With 2.04 you'll notice a few directory structure changes and your Mountlist will need to be replaced by DOSDrivers. Other than that it should be very smooth - very much unlike upgrading from 1.3.
