Hi all long time no chat, well Nintendo have made an Item
called wii fit, but hay Amiga had the joyboard 25 years before nintendo was thinking about wii fit
-
yeah, well maybe the amiga had the joy board for 25 years, but I don't rember ONE game that used it. I don't think it will catch on with the Wii either.
-
I had Alpine Skiing and Surf... something or other for the Joyboard. Both totally unplayable in a carpeted room. We actually brought in a piece of plywood to set under the Joyboard for playing these games.
-
Are you sure you had Surf's Up? Only a handful (maybe less) of prototypes are known to exist. Mogul Maniac was the skiing game included with the JoyBoard.
-
Were they sturdy enough to stand on?

The joyboard was just an 8 direction joystick with a platform on the top was it not?
The wii fit is two (maybe more, one for each corner of the two different platforms) presure sensors.
These deliver a lot more information and can be used for a lot more than just a simple left/right/forward joystick.
Im looking forward to giving the wii fit a try :D
(although there is probably going to be a 18 stone limit or something so I cant :( Supersize it now!

Did you guys notice the picture comparision in my original post (which pre-dates this thread)... If anyone wants to see what the WiiFit vs JoyBoard looks like, I posted pics up there.
