Title: Results of amazing news from Holland
Post by: ElZorro on July 14, 2007, 03:03:15 PM
a few topics ago I told you I was going to get someone's whole amiga collection for just a nice bunch of flowers!

I have good news: It was no joke and I'm still alive and not attack by some kind of maniac!

To give you a nice idea of what he gave away I give you a list:

1) A 1200 with exp.b. 4mb RAM , HD 250mb
2) Graffito 24 bit digitizer
3) Cd player with about 25 cd's
4) ext. FDD 3,5" en 5,25"
5) C= 64 with tape player and power
6) about 600 FD (original games also)
8) 20 books (most about video making, titles etc) with original disks!!!!!
7) sampler (?)
8) many more

I wish I could add a photo to this topic, because there is a LOT to see!

Perhaps adding a photo to the Forum of Pictures.....?

maybe later I can find out how to add a collection to the topic.

That's for now.

Amazing what a bunch of flowers can get you :-).

If you need hosting for images, you could try uploading your pic at imagebay.com. (http://www.imagebay.com/) and linking to it from here.

Hope it works for all of you!
On the 18th of August there will be a meeting in Maarsen (Commodore HCC) If somebody is intrested in one of the things he sees on the photo's (Except for the monitor!) and you live in Holland, let me know!
So we can meet in Maarsen and I will take the part(s) with me for you. (little contribution to the amiga community!)

Elzorro, funny, I'm using a lot of bandwidth right now and it took the pics a minute to resolve properly - I was looking at this heavily pixillated image with the browns and beiges artifacting all over the place, thinking to myself "No wonder he got it for a bunch of flowers.  That s--t looks like it's been in a fire..." :-)

But good deal!  Heh, wish I could nail down an A3000D for a bouquet!

:D

What kind of flowers did you give him?

The flowers where roses (Not Guns 'n Roses!)
She realy appriciated the bunch, it was not a cheap wild-type bunch!

When I picked it up at the place it was al packed for me, and yes it was not used for quit some time OR it has been put away in a space where they also did rebuild-work. A little dusty, but hey! You take a rag and the dust is gone! :-D

The A1200 has also al the CD software on the harddisk, so everything is working ok.

Any one intrested? (I can tell you flowers can do the trick lately!)

Also big AMOS books (3x) and disks The Whole Original disk collection! In a nice (original!)Amiga Club Folder!
Books about PC software on the Amiga etc...
Just for the lovers of programming!
The man used the amiga to set tittles to his video's and a Graffito to digitize in 24 bit. And I was insurred anything more that would came out of their house that belongs to Commodore he would contact me and I could get it also.

So I'm still in the running for more (if there is btw)

greetings and PM me if you are looking for a spec.disk o.s.l.t.

There are lots of people out there who have old Commodore/Amiga hardware that they consider "junk" which is boxed up in their closets or basements. They dont know or care that these things are worth money to some people and can be sold on ebay. To them, it is just junk. I have gotten some good Commodore 64 equipment from people like that... they are happy to give it away free to anyone who will come and take it. They consider it a service that you will save them the trouble of taking the stuff to a recycler or dump.

Problem is finding these people.

I had good luck emailing some local computer user groups and saying "Hi if any members of your group have old junk computers from the 1980s or early 1990s I will happily come and take the junk away for free." I never got any Amiga stuff that way but I've gotten tons of C64/128 stuff. I haven't tried it that many times, so Im sure with more effort I could get good Amiga stuff too.

Garage sales and thrift shops also sometimes have good deals on vintage machines... but some places like Salvation Army have recently begun policies of rejecting any computers over 5 years old as being "unsellable junk"...
