Today I had some free time so I've decided to reorganize my Amiga stuff. I've also taken some pictures and... a page is born (http://tizeta2.altervista.org/amiga/)!
Just a bit of... "Amiga vanity" :-D

geocities is so lame ... get a google account and make your pages at pages.google.com. It's sooo fast and sexy ... I love it.

edit : I think I'm one of the few people who saw the whole page :) it's nice, lots of mint amiga pics. I loved that A3000. My main rig is also an A3000 but an A4000 is rising atm :)

That is a an awsome collection and the pictures are taken very well too. Everything is so clean and pretty :-D
I hope Doomy doesn't see you have all those chips just sitting together in a plastic box like that though or he'd probably flip out and tell you that you need real "black" anti-static foam and none of that sissy pink stuff either! Militray grade too if you can find it!! :lol:

I never had/see an A500+ in my whole life. I guess they never came to Brazil.
How can I buy/rent/grab/steal one?

A500+ computers are less common than standard A500s but you can find them quite quickly on European eBay.
I don't know if postage fees to Brazil are prohibitive...

Yes, they are prohibitive: at least 50~75 euro to S&H, more 107%(!) for custom taxes (taxes INCLUDE S&H!).
Looks for me like I live in a country administrated by vampires, looking for my bloody money each time the oportunity appears.:madashell:

I like your page. I've settled on 100 SCSI zip disks because they are so cheap and widely available--I paid $1 recently for a SCSI zip drive. 100mbs is practically useless in a modern PC context but that's a lot of data for an Amiga and it's fast and convienent. I have a USB zip drive hooked up to my laptop and I can read Amiga zip disks in an emulated Amiga in Winuae or directly with ADF Opus.
And Googlepages is really good. I have several different pages there but renting webserver space is cheap and for $60us a year you can get a whole lot of webspace and bandwidth and your web design possibilities are severely limited on Googlepages so I finally bit the bullit and paid for some server space and I have several web sites going right now--none of them Amiga related in any way. I still use google pages for photo hosting for Ebay and have a simplified version of my main website on googlepages which is a handy backup in case of server probems. And I have thought about doing a small website dealing with what you're dealing with in your google page: How to bring Amigas into the modern era and how to share data between archaic Amigas and modern PCs.
My main collection focus is software and I maintain my Amigas--and one Atari and one "vintage" laptop--to be able to run all the software I have for them. So I have 3 Amigas, 1 Atari Mega ST4 and 1 Pentium II laptop in the vintage hardware department and a huge and constantly growing collection of software. Winuae is wonderful but there is something special about having a real Amiga. And I have a working collection--I don't want Amigas that just take up space, I want to use their unique graphics qualities to do digital art I can transfer to my PC and include in my Web projects. And Countzero, you seem to be thinking along the same lines and you have some real useful information online so a tip of the hat to you. :-) :-) :-)

Not everywhere. Where I live, I probably have the only Amigas around and there are no more available, free or otherwise. I buy other things--nintendo game systems for example--locally and sell them on Ebay in order to be able to buy Amiga stuff--trade and barter essentially. There are loads of free PCs and sometimes Macs but the Amiga never came to where I live in any big way. On the other hand, I have just been offered a free PC laptop because it was "slow". This could mean that it's really old or it could also mean that it's been zapped by viruses and malware and needs the HD wiped and the OS reinstalled. Should collect next week see what I'm getting but I can't argue with the price.

Ami_GFX, thanks for the compliment :) Yeah, I know googlepages is kind of limiting for webdesign, but hey, that's the least of my concerns :) I have my own webspace too, (www.coze.org) but I'm too lazy to prepare pages offline then upload them and when you spot an error, upload again and so ... I also tried ready packages like wordpress, but it was too complicated for my needs ... I love the simplicity of googlepages, you find an error, and TA ! Just edit it online with no hassles :)
As for my page, I just realised I forgot something, the WinUAE way ! It's really convenient when you're setting up a system from scratch ... The downside is you have to go through the hassle of connecting-disconnecting drives around. I will also add some pages about my Amigas in the future (when I'm over with my laziness ...)

One of those 4000s I traded for an Atari Falcon and TT030. So I am down to one A4000. :) However, I will find more! :)
