I received my copy yesterday and I must say it's a nice feeling to hold a real and new Amiga magazine after all these years. I once was subscribed to the Dutch Amiga Magazine but they ceized publication in 1997 or so, so it's been a decade since I read a magazine with NEW news :-)
About the magazine itself I only can say that it looks very professional. German readers sure have known this for the last 66 issues of course, but I think it's very good!
I haven't read the magazine completely yet, but I'll save that for the weekend :-)
Thumbs up for Andreas and all writers and translators (other than me of course)!

I was gonna get a copy of it but held off, it looks a great mag but my TA subscription ran out and I normally need a kick up the arse before I do anything. ;-)
more reviews of the mag please! hehe

@ all
Have not received my subscribers copy as yet.
Anyone know if subscribers copies come direct
from AmigaFuture.de or is there someone here
in the UK that posts them to UK subscribers.
Regards
Clint

I believe they come directly from Germany, but since I'm in Holland I guess I receive it faster than you British islanders.

Theres something humorous when the words "Amiga" and "future" are on the same sentence.

Can't remember if I'm entitled to a free issue from my old Total Amiga subscription.
If not i'll be subscribing soon :-)
-
I hope you enjoy the reading - I've done a bit of translation in this issue myself. ;-)

Mine showed up late last week. How rare for we North Americans to get something before the UK! :-)
My impressions of the magazine are mixed, but predominantly positive. The game hints and reader letters pages are very well suited to the print medium. Their presence is a nice reminder about the interaction between the reader and the publication. I also like the retrospective game reviews.
My main critique, though, and probably one shared by most of my fellow German-illiterates, is with the translation. While strong for the most part, there were a few sections that didn't make much sense. I'd imagine they concern figures of speech that don't have a logical equivalent in English. I don't really know how to improve that, but maybe it's something to keep in mind. Some other suggestions would be to change the release date headings from "already out" to "Available now". While grammatically valid, "already out" feels out of place. Also, there seemed to be inconsistent use of citation styles. Sometimes titles would be quoted a bit
like this" (hard to recreate on an English keyboard)
"
and sometimes they would be used correctly, "like this".
The opening editorial says the translation is something to be improved upon in the coming months, and I look forward to seeing the changes. The magazine already has strong editorial content, so I hope these suggestions can help make it a more comfortable read for the newly-expanded audience.

Yes, when translating texts, something might slip through that a native speaker wouldn't write.
Andreas was looking for native speakers and couldn't find enough. So I guess anyone volunteering for proof reading the translated texts will be welcome - no knowledge of German required.
Any feedback to what I translated (Nils Petersen) is also highly appreciated. ;-)

I think you did at least as well as the fist numbers of AmigActive

Mine arrived today, here in (currently sunny) Jersey UK( not NEW Jersey ;). It takes a day longer than the UK for post to arrive from the continent so it is right on time.
I'm looking forward to reading it and hope my translations are ok too!
