Title: A1200 25W PSU on A500?
Post by: Anonymous MOS on July 08, 2007, 09:20:24 PM
Hey guys,

I know it's better to use the old A500 (powerhouse) PSU on an upgraded A1200 because of the higher wattage, but can the 25 watt A1200 PSU operate a stock A500?

Thanks again,
Steve

But never, ever, try this with a single memory expansion (like SupraRAM) attached!

:-D  Okay.  I was actually running my A1200 system with the 25 watt PSU.  :-(  Maybe that's why all the crashes I was having?

Quite possibly. Whwn mine failed, it dropped the output just long enough to crash the Miggy, then restored itself. I ended up with an oscilloscope attached to it to see it happening !
Time for a new psu
