Hey guys, what options should I use when formatting my A1200's hard drive? I know I need Fast File System, but should I use International Mode and Directory Cache? I'm running Workbench 3.1.
Thanks guys.

Better set all options on.
Even better is format the hd with SFS, who is faster and much more reliable. :-D

I would suppose I can get SFS from Aminet?
Also, I need to keep compatibility with the older games. Does the filesystem on the hard drive have anything to do with running games and software with WHDLoad and floppies?

I have SFS on all my partitions, never get a problem.
But no, you don't will find SFS on Aminet (maybe some tools). SFS have his own internet homepage: :rtfm: (http://strohmayer.org/sfs/)

Thanks for the link. :-) How do I go about formatting my partitions for the first time with SFS? It says something about only being able to quick-format already SFS partitions.

SFS don't need to regular formating the partition, but if you wish (in order to look for bad clusters), you can download HDInstallTools (http://aminet.net/disk/misc/hdinst.lha) from aminet to do it.
BTW: always read carefully the docs inside this programs.
