Title: A2000 Dangers?
Post by: hamtronix on July 06, 2007, 11:43:31 PM
I know the A4000 battery danger. Are there any general dangers with an A2000? I just got one and want to protect my investment (ha.) as much as possible.

I apologize for posting the request for RAM on this forum instead of the SALE forum... my bad.

Yes, remove Barrel Battery from motherboard. They leak like all the others.

... And replace it with a coin shaped battery, with this hack (http://aminet.net/docs/hard/LithBatt.lha). :-D

A thing to remember is the 2000 is a lot better at surving battery leakage than the 4000 and 3000 for that matter.  The battery seems to be far enough away to not ruin traces (as easily), but still I would remove it and avoid the possibility to prove me wrong.
