Does anybody here know the Rom location on an A2000? As I would like to update it in a general upgrade! PS: I am new here, so big shouts to you all, and thanks for the oppurtunity to disguss Amiga with like minded folks. :-)

The Kickstart is located directly to the right of the 68000 chip. In this (http://amigahardware.mariomisic.de/download_photos/a2000rev43mb.jpg) picture it's the one marked with the MX letters.
Oh, and a warm welcome to amiga.org!

In order to get to the ROM Chip you will have to remove the Power Supply/Drive cage assembly.
It's better to disconnect the Power Supply Harness but there's usually enough play on the FDD cable to just move the assembly.

Thank you most informative. I would like to bring this A2000 up to useable specs. It is quite unusual as it has a Scala type genlock that seems only to fit the A2000. I think I will use a buddha expansion and install a cd rom and extra storage. Another thing of use would be an application to display whats going on with the expanded side of things to see if everything is as it should be. :-P

I finished upgrading my A2000 last month after several months of buying things for it. If it came with a bunch of cover disks then look for a small utility called "sysinfo". It will tell you everything you need to know including chipsets, speeds, drives, expansion boards, etc.
Have fun with the upgrading. One note, if you're upgrading the ROM to 3.1 to install OS3.0 or OS3.1 then fine, but if you're planning on upgrading to OS3.9 them make sure you have extra RAM in the machine. To that extent, either use a Zorro RAM card, look for a SCSI card with fitted RAM or look for an accelerator with fitted RAM.
