Title: Picture submission not working?
Post by: motorollin on July 03, 2007, 12:29:59 PM: I'm trying to upload an image to the gallery, but after submitting it I just get a blank white page. I have tried in Safari, iBrowse and IE6. Anyone else having problems?

Post by: BinoX on July 03, 2007, 12:41:13 PM: (Generally) That's usually a sign that the picture you're uploading is too big (in K or MBs) for the servers request length...

Post by: adonay on July 03, 2007, 01:03:38 PM: i never sucsessfully uploaded one of the two jpg or was it gif ??? aye at leased one of them i never sucsessed with. Also A.org have a filesize limit.

Post by: motorollin on July 03, 2007, 01:07:43 PM: The picture is a 1024x768 jpg at 285,977 bytes in size. Normally if it is too big I get an error saying it is too large and then it takes me back to the submission form. The images in the gallery are all jpgs. I saved it from Photoshop, which adds a preview icon and some other info. Reckon I should try a plain jpg without any of this?

Try using the save for web option (Imageready) and ensure that it isn't specially optimized. In Photoshop Elements I have had issues when saving JPEGs in the normal way which were solved by using save for web.

Post by: motorollin on July 03, 2007, 01:38:24 PM: I just installed jpeg.library and re-grabbed the image directly to a JPG. Same problem when I tried to submit it :-(

Post by: uncharted on July 03, 2007, 01:57:53 PM: Yes. I had to reduce the colours down to 64 to make the image fit in the maximum size. Looks like there is a problemn with JPG submission rather than it being your particular image.
