I won an auction on Ebay for a Nintendo 64 game, but I only noticed now that the seller only accepts personal cheques or money orders (boo!).
If I want to send a money order from the Netherlands to the UK that will cost me 10 (ten!) Euros! For a winning bid of 0,99 GBP! :boohoo: (and then I don't even have counted the shipping costs yet)..
Yeah, I should have checked it before bidding but in almost all auctions that I see, the seller is accepting Paypal or banktransfer, hence my mistake...
So, 2 questions for you people:
1. What are the costs (if any) for a money order/personal cheque within the UK?
2. If these costs are far lower than those 10 Euros: can anyone in the UK help me out by paying for me? I will then pay you by Paypal, and you will of course have my eternal gratitude (I will even send you a bonus!)

Can't you just stuff some pounds in an envelope?
-
Well, according to the auction the seller doesn't accept that :-)
-
I'm probably stating the obvious here, but there's a chance that after communicating with the seller you're able to work something out =).

I know, I already messaged him, but just in case he is stubborn, I though I'd already ask here. Just in case :-)
-
I will send him a cheque for you if you like, if all else fails. You can then PayPal me the cash.

Thanks moto!
I'll wait for an answer from the seller, and when needed I'll give you a shout (or a whisper, depending on how much background noise there is... :-) )

No worries mate. Might be best to PM me in case I don't check ths thread again.

@McVenco
Some years ago I had to pay 18€ for a 50€ bank transfer to germany and Euro was already used in both Germany and Spain and I was client of that bank office :-/
We are in the middle of the year 2007 and I can't make international bank transfers through internet, just national ones.
Spain sucks :-/
