Hi.
As my Amigas are currently out of action, I was wondering if you people could tell me if AmigaForever would be good for me.
I'm wanting to be able to use all my old graphics software. TVPaint, ImageFX 4, and other programs like that. Would AmigaForever be good enough to get a good resolution and colourdepth? I would obviously want at least 1024x768 in 24bit.
Thanks

If your graphics card supports that resolution under Windows then it should work in AmigaForever.

Well, AmigaForever is basically WinUAE + legal AmigaOS + other material. So yes, it can do whatever resolutions your Windoze box can output. Assuming you have the proper monitor etc, for example 2048 x 1536 x 32bit should be no problem.

Hmmm. Ok thanks. I just wondered as I read a review on a website somewhere and he couldn't get anything working above 8bit. He was a complete stranger to the Amiga though.
Thanks. Still thinking about getting it, but still not sure.

yes it will do what you want! it will be fast for you also, much faster then a real Amiga for that kind of work. ImageFX flies! if you have question about uae ask on the eab!
-
Another question. Can I read my old Amiga's HD? I've kept it how I left it a few years ago. Hopefully it'll still work!
-
Yes you can connect an amiga hdd to your pc running amigaforever and use it as a real miigy HDD. there are some preactions to take though, I have wrecked a drive by not reading the documentation properly

Thanks. I hope I do get this working. Paint is driving me mad. I have Lightwave v8 running along with paint and whatever I can find as freeware for the PC. TVPaint n ImageFX is still the best I've used. Also just foundout today my old graphics tablet won't work with XP. Damn!
Thanks

I have Amiga Forever and I actually like it pretty good, of course it isn't a miggy though, but i have a lot of games for my CD32 that is pal and cant get them to run good on the CD32 but I have actually got them to run great with Amigaforever through the PC. Cheers and have fun
