While I was retooling my CV today* and I realised that I'm going to need to change my email address yet again. For the last 2 years I've been using my uni email address in combination with the email from my (crap) ISP, but as my uni account will close in August and I'll dump my ISP when we move again (probably in a couple of months) I need a replacement.
Since 2000, when I first got my own internet connection, I've gone through 6 different main email address which is a pain in the arse. As ISPs are a bit hit and miss, and also ISP email addresses suck (forename.surname826737@isp-domain.co.uk) I've decided I want to separate email and webspace from my service provider so it can be a permanent thing that I won't have to keep changing.
Obviously I need to get a domain name, and some kind of hosting for both email and web. I'm not so worried about web-space it would be more of a bonus, email is my main concern. The problem is it appears to be a bit of a minefield out there, and finding a good service is difficult. If possible I'd like to get everything as one package for the sake of keeping it simple. The other thing is if possible I would prefer to deal with a UK company, again for simplicity.
So to the point - Can anyone recommend any suitable services / companies that they've had good experience with?
*doesn't that sound uber-professional and business like? Who wouldn't hire me? :-)

Hum,
Just go for yahoo.mail or google mail
You can login from anywhere in the world or any machine and its free...
Or try something like oneof the social networks like FACEBOOK (http://www.facebook.com/login.php)

http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com/webhosting/hostingfeatures.php?p=PASSPORT
yahoo! small business hosting has never failed me...absolutely no downtime, ridiculously fast loading times, and since it's yahoo!, you get unlimited email storage space...also their new mail looks incredibly snazzy
oh, and the mentioning of the word facebook warrants some unsubtle advertising:
Put any game/animation in your profile!

all thanks to the urhq.com application (http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=2440237452)
