A nice game which was finally released yesterday. Get it here
http://www.hurrican-game.de (http://www.hurrican-game.de)
It's Freeware.

Thanks mate :)

Looks cool. I'll try it when I get home (it would be a bit bad if I started playing it at work right now :-)
-
Great game!
:-)

Great.. I have been waiting for this for ages..

Preview video here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jk3DNTYx_w). Amiga port! Amiga port! Amiga port! :-D

Just had a go of it.. Its pretty good.

the tutorial was quite good and fun, but the real deal won't work. Strangely enough, I can't start a one player game. The game crashes :(

Odd.. no glitches here.. I recall the demo from ages ago being buggy to run..
I think this only requires directx 8.
The main site does not have a min spec for it to run?
-
Yeah no problems here running it and it is a great game. Not to sure on an amiga port tho.
-
Been playing it...
But I think the levels are a bit too long...

No Amiga equivalent of this game....anywhere?
-
This is one game I would love to pay some money for.
That is if it would run on my peg2.
-
Great game! Only annoyance: controls are less simple using a standard Competition Pro USB (activating smart bombs, no thunderbolt by simply holding down the fire-button etc.).

Heh? The Amiga's already got an equivalent in the form of Turrican's 1, 2 & 3.

The "main download site" is poke53280.com. Didn't that change the border color on the Commodore 64?

Nope. Close though. IIRC it changed the background color and poke 53281 would change the border. :)

Graphically wise it reminds me of ACSYS. Too bad that project hasn't been finished.

Wierdami was right. poke 53280,x would change the border color and poke 53281,y would change the background color.

According to Wikiepdia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PEEK_and_POKE) 53280 changes the border color.
Here's (http://gamedesign.wikidot.com/commodore64:poke) another link that mentions this.

Looks nice in the screenshots.
Doesn't run beyond the initial window on my system.
And in the 20 minutes that I've been in Windows XP my stress levels have quadrupled. Has there ever been an operating system design to frustrate and irritate?
Shame they didn't write the game on a more cross-platform API - SDL, OpenGL, etc. It could easily have been ported to other systems then :(
edit: runs now, I had to install new audio drivers. It's quite fun, but just as difficult as Turrican ever was.

Nice game indeed. I already tried some others Turrican clones on the PC but this is the best. Of course, I prefer Turrican I and II on the Amiga.
